Nabiha’s New Start

Nabiha’s story begins in the scenic but remote village of Skardu, nestled in the northern regions of Pakistan. Life in this serene mountain community is peaceful, but it is also marked by a lack of resources, including access to proper healthcare and transportation. It was on one day that Nabiha’s life would change forever.

While playing near a wall, Nabiha lost her balance and fell, severely injuring her arm. With limited medical facilities and no immediate means of transport to the hospital, Nabiha’s injury went untreated for several crucial hours. By the time she was able to make the long journey to the hospital, the damage to her arm was so severe that the doctors had no choice but to amputate it. The once vibrant, playful girl was now faced with the reality of living without her arm, a loss that would deeply affect her physically and also her spirit.

In the days that followed her surgery, Nabiha’s mind raced with unanswered questions. Would she ever be able to hold the hands of her friends again to play games like “Ring Around the Roses”? Would she ever be able to pick fruits from the trees in her village, as she once did with ease? These simple joys, once so familiar, now seemed beyond her reach.

Her story took a turn when her uncle, determined to restore her happiness and independence, found out about Bioniks and its innovative prosthetic solutions.
